Awesome Second Day!

Wow! What a improvement from yesterday!
JKs are slowly but steady learning to walk in the line through the hallways, sit still on the carpet for story time, clean up, pack up...etc...
Today we began the day with story time and songs. The special helper led us on the calendar counting, we checked the weather and dressed up Jhonny.

In language we read a book titled "The Way I Act". We talked and acted out different feelings and how each one felt on their first day of school.

Then we drew a picture demonstrating with colors how we felt - bright colors = happy, dark colors = sad or scared.

Next we had math where students practiced their numeracy skills by matching the amount of clothespin to the number on the card.

Students then had lunch and recess.
After recess we had story time and songs.
For our Unit of Inquiry we had play dough and name mats. Students were encouraged to form their names using play dough.

Then JKs attended Gym and French classes.
To finish off the day we had centers where students explored a variety of math manipulatives.
