We had a blast today!
In the morning JKs had gym and art classes. Then we had the final spring fundraiser assembly.
In the afternoon we had the dance party and extra recess.

Happy Ice Cream Day!
Today JKs began the day with gym class, morning circle time and snacks.
Next, we reviewed the characteristics of mammals and wrote in the journals about one mammal of our choice.
Next, we had the daily five read to self and reading to someone.
In the afternoon we had French class and the Spring Fundraiser assembly, where Mr. Sawatsky got a pie on his face!

Happy Pancake Day!
We had a fantastic day!
In the morning Mr. Mac helped serving the pancake to the JKs. Pancakes were warm and fluffy! :)
Next, we came in the class and did our morning circle time. Next, we had our daily five - read to someone. Then JKs checked their beans and we shared our observations with the rest of the class. In our journals we wrote something about bean.
In the afternoon we had the Spring Fundraiser assembly. Please, submit your pledge form, payment and field trip form no later than Friday.
To finish off the day we had play dough for centers and Art class with Ms. Kerr.

Happy Popcorn Day!
We had a fantastic day!
In the morning we had snacks, morning circle time and daily five - read to self. In our daily five - read to self JKs had a variety of animal books to choose from.
Next, we talked about different types of mammals. We were very intrigued by the bats. Bats are the only flying mammals. In our inquiry table we had clay and materials to build a bat cave. Not everyone had the chance of going to the inquiry table, for that reason we will still have it tomorrow. :)
Next, we read the book: Goldilocks And The Three Little Bears. Then we made a chart where JKs shared what did they know about bears. The funniest one was: "Bears have angry face and mean eyes!"
Then JKs did a math activity where they had to cut and paste pictures related to the story. The goal was to sort the pictures by size: small, medium and big.
In the afternoon we made bear puppets. Ask your child to tell the story using the puppets! :)
To finish off the day we had the Spring Fundraiser assembly where the top student put make up on Mr. Foster.

JKs looked great today!
In the morning we had gym and art classes. Then we had our morning circle time and story time.
In the afternoon we talked about mammals. This week JKs will be learning about different types of mammals. Today we made this chart as a class.
We also watched a video about mammals. JKs had some time to ask questions and tell the class what they already knew about mammals.
After second lunch and recess we cut and paste different types of animals categorizing them into mammals and reptiles.

Next, we went outside to collect garbage. We also found some cute snails.
In the afternoon we watched a video about Earth Day and worked on our robot.
We also spent some time writing cards for Ms. K.
To finish off the day we read a story and had pack up.

Happy Thursday!
We had a great day today!
JKs began the day with gym class, then we had snacks and morning circle time.
After that JKs attended Art class with Ms. Kerr.
In the afternoon we completed an activity where JKs had to draw 4 pictures about ways they can help the earth. Take a look:
Then we had Math. We completed an activity where we had to measure our friends and certain items around the classroom using straws connectors. After measuring it we had to count and write how many straws we used.
To finish off the day we started building our Earth Day Robot and we had some time for centers.

Happy Wednesday!
Today we began the day with gym class, snacks and morning circle time.
In language arts we sang our phonics song and practiced our reading skills by completing an activity where JKs had to look at the picture and circle one of the two words given.
Then we practiced writing on the dry erase boards.
After lunch and recess we talked about how to help the earth by recycling and composting. Then JKs had an excellent idea for an action, they all agreed to keep the lights of our classroom off tomorrow, we will be using only natural light tomorrow in our class.
Next, JKs had French class and we completed a fun activity where they had to cut and paste different pictures of garbage and categorize them by compost and recycle.
After second recess, we had math centers.

Happy Tuesday!!!
It was great to hear different stories about my JKs long weekend!
Today we began the day with gym class, art class and morning circle time.
After lunch and recess we read a story about pollution. This Friday is Earth Day. JKs will be working on "earth" activities throughout the week involving science, language and math.
Then JKs had French and we worked on our journals. In our journals today we wrote: "The earth is wonderful." or "I love the earth."
Right after second lunch and recess we read the story "Freddie the Fish" and did a pollution experiment. Throughout the experiment, we discussed how Freddie was feeling. At the conclusion of it, we brainstormed what could have been done differently, so Freddie could have had a healthier environment.

Happy Easter
Today we began the day with an Easter house game in the gym. Then JKs attended gym class, they had snacks and morning circle time. Next, we had the Easter Egg hunt.
Then Ms. L. (a JK teacher who came to visit us) read us a story about being kind.
After lunch and recess we made bunny ears, had French class and worked on a math activity where JKs classified and counted the number of objects in a set.
After second lunch, JKs had math and literacy centers.

Then we took a look at the animal classification. JKs watched an interactive video about mammals, amphibians, reptiles, birds and fish.
Next, we completed our journals by copying the sentence: "This is a mammal." JKs also drew a picture of a mammal.
After lunch and recess, we made the word OUR using play dough.
Then we work on number writing on our dry erase boards.
After second lunch, we had reading buddies and to finish off the day we played an animal mimic game.
