Happy Thursday!
Today we began the day with gym class, morning circle time and snacks.
In language arts we worked on 3 letter words. JKs had to complete the beginning , middle and ending sound on cvc words.
In Math we reviewed graphs and JKs had the chance to ask around the class which was their friend's favourite food.
After recess, we had art class.

Happy Wednesday!

In language arts we completed our journals using the alphabet center.
Then JKs used the dry erase boards to write and do graphs.
In the afternoon we completed some numeracy work (counting objects in a set) and phonics (identifying the beginning sound in words).
Next, JKs had French class and daily five - read to someone.
After 2nd lunch and recess we had used chalk to draw outside.
To finish off the day we had story time.

Happy Promotion Day
We had a great day!
Thank you to all parents who came to the promotion ceremony.
In the afternoon we had Art and French classes.
Then JKs made bugs with Styrofoam stickers.

Happy Monday
Today we began the day with gym class, snacks and morning circle time.
In language arts we looked into the sight word "of". JKs read a poem a together and then they had to circle all the sight word "of" in their poem.
Next we read a book which talked about the "Open Minded" learner profile.
After lunch we had French and played shape bingo.
To finish off the day we had our last reading buddies of the year. Have a great evening everyone and stay in the shade!
*Today we didn't go outside because of the heat alert.

Then JKs had the daily five - listen to reading.
In the afternoon we worked on numeracy by counting objects in a set and checking the correct number. Then we had centers.
After second recess we had art class with Ms. Kerr.

We are all back to routine, after some busy days!
Today we began the day with gym class, morning circle time and snacks.
Next in language arts we worked on our journals. JKs practiced starting the sentence with upper case, use of finger space and end the sentence with a period.
In the afternoon we had French class, then JKs used the dry erase boards to write words.
We also spent some time sorting out our work and art pieces to go home.
After second lunch and recess we had centers.

* We at SJA have had a wonderful year with your children, but it is time to send them off to the next grade. Our PYP promotion and graduation ceremonies are taking place next week. Students are asked to dress smart casual on these days. The ceremonies will take place over two days. The JK to Grade 2 promotion ceremony will take place on Tuesday, June 13th. The Grade 3 to 5 promotion ceremony and Grade 6 graduation will take place on Wednesday, June 14th. Both ceremonies begin at 9 am and should be completed by 10:30 am. Parents and families are invited to attend. We look forward to seeing you then.

Arts Night!!!
Everyone is so excited to perform this afternoon/evening. We have been busy preparing for arts night!
Today we had gym and art classes in the morning. Then after lunch/recess we had story time.
JKs presented their song in the dress rehearsal.
To finish off the day we had centers.

Happy Monday!
We had a great Monday together!
In the morning we had circle time where JKs shared what they did over the weekend. Then we had snacks. In language arts we worked on printing in the lines and using correct upper/lower case letters.
Then JKs attended Art class, had lunch and recess.
After recess, we started an art project about The very Hungry Caterpillar. It is a bit of long process, but fun!
Today we started by sponge painting the paper green, we waited until it was dry and cut out circles. Then we put the caterpillar together.
