Next we had Show and Tell.

Brain Breaks

Everyone needs a brain break occasionally, especially little learners who have been working hard all day.
Brain breaks are a great way to re-energize students, to get their blood pumping and their brains re-charged. It allows students to get their “wiggles” out, which will, in turn, help them to stay focused on the next task.
Here are some examples of brain breaks we do in our class:
  • Movement Songs
  • Jump Skip Counting
  • Exercise Movement Counting:
  • Pretend
  • Dance Party
  • Freeze Dance
  • Line Up
  • Simon Says
  • Follow the Leader
  • Pattern Clap
You may also try it at home! :)

Enjoy...

One more sleep!

Sunny Tuesday!

How great is this weather! Love it!
Today we start off the day with gym class, morning circle time and healthy snacks.
Next we met our new animal friend Ellie Elephant. Students learned the phonics song for the letter E.
Then we put on our detective hat to find Es on a page. JKs were encouraged to identify all Es by coloring in the letter.
Next we had our daily five - read to someone and listen to reading.
After lunch we acted out the apple life cycle and watched a short video about how to plant an apple tree.
We then talked about apples and made a chart as a class.
In Math we made apples using play dough, counted them and placed on the apple tree using the correct amount.
To finish the day off we had inquiry centers where JKs had a variety of math manipulatives to explore!
Have a great evening everyone!
