Happy Wednesday!

We had a great day!
Today we began the day with gym class, snacks and morning circle time.
Next, we had some time to do our daily five - read to self.
Then JKs headed to Art class with Ms. Kerr.
After lunch we listened to our phonics song and had French class.
Next, students asked to do the pattern necklace again using pasta.
To finish the day off we had different centers around the classroom. JKs could do the initials of their names using pre cut paper and making a pattern, they could make patterns using small river rocks, explore and observe the patterns on the leaves we collected yesterday and making patterns using frogs.

Today we began the day with gym class, snacks and morning circle time.
Next, we sang our phonics song to review the name and sound of each letter we have learned so far. Then JKs worked on their Handwriting Without Tears workbook. Next, JKs had the Daily Five Centers.
In the afternoon we had some time outside to explore patterns in nature.
We collected some beautiful leaves and tomorrow we will explore them in our inquiry table.
After that we had French class and the pattern/sorting fruit loop activity.
To finish off the day we had reading buddies.

Happy Thursday!

Today we began the day meeting a special guest. Mr. Matin is a veteran who collects world war artifacts. JKs enjoyed touching and exploring.
Next, we had snacks and morning circle time.
In language we worked on our letter sounds through our phonics song.
In math we reviewed what a pattern is and JKs were encouraged to show the class a pattern on the poster.
In the afternoon we had the Show and Tell presentations, French and Art classes.

Amazing Wednesday!

We began our day with gym class, morning circle time and snacks.
We continue our counting to 100th day of school and today is our 44th day! Time is flying by for sure!
In the morning JKs worked on their Handwriting Without Tears workbook as part of their daily five - work on writing. Then we had some time to form letters using playdough.
In the afternoon JKs worked in pairs using magnet letters to find the letters of their names, then they were encouraged to name and sound the letters.
Next, in our UOI/Math we made pattern necklaces using 2 different pasta shapes. JKs had a lot of fun doing that!
To finish off the day we had a Remembrance Day Assembly with the whole school where JKs had poppies to color and Gr. 1-8 wrote thank you letters to veterans.
How blessed we are to live in a free country!

Today we had a fun day!
We began the day with gym and art classes.
Next we had snacks and morning circle time.
Then JKs practiced their phonics song and also their correct letter formation on the Handwriting Without Tears workbook.

 

In the afternoon we had French class, daily five centers and math centers.
In art class JKs made puppies for Remembrance Day!

What a great fall weather!
We began our day with gym class, snacks and morning circle time.
In the morning we worked on identifying the letters L and U using the bingo dauber to stamp.

Next, we worked on beginning sounds, where JKs had to cut and paste the pictures in the correct beginning sound.

Then we had the daily five - listen to reading and read to self.

Next, we made handprints with paint. We will be using those to make reindeers to decorate our bulletin board.

In the afternoon we did some cutting for our reindeer's face.
Then we made patterns using mega blocks.
Students also enjoyed the nice weather outside!
