Happy Wednesday!

Today our day was a bit different because of the Artreach workshop.
In the morning students participated in the workshop.
In the afternoon we had story time, French class and centers. In our centers we had the opportunity to make patterns using manipulatives, working with alphabet and blocks.

Hello Parents!
We had a great day today!
In the morning we had gym class, snacks and circle time.
Then we practiced the correct formation of the letter O on our Handwriting Without Tears book and on the dry erase board.
Next, Mrs. Blair's class joined us to practice our song for the Christmas Concert.
You will receive more details about the Christmas Concert in the following weeks.
In the afternoon we had the daily five - listen to reading and French class.
To finish off the day our reading buddies from gr. 5 joined us.

We had a great day!
We began the day with gym class, snacks and morning circle time.
Next, we met our new animal friend Oscar Otter. Then we sang our phonics song for the letter O.
Then JKs made Os with play doh.
In the afternoon we did a cut and paste pattern activity. JKs had French and Art classes.
Today we also had the daily five - listen to reading and read to self.

Today we began the day with gym class, snacks and morning circle time. As part of our circle time this morning we played together as teams to build the tallest tower ever! :)
In the morning we had the daily five - listen to reading and reading to self.
Next we sang our phonics song and practiced writing the letter C using the dry erase board.
In the afternoon we had the Show and Tell presentations, French class and centers.

Science Fair!

Thank you all parents who could come to the Science Fair!
We had a great day! I was so happy to see my JKs presenting and using big words such as carbon dioxide, chemical reaction, ect...
Today our day was a bit different because of the Science Fair. But we did some work practicing correct letter formation for C.
We also played games as brain breaks! :)
Students attended Arts and French classes.

Today we began the day with gym class, snacks and morning circle time.
In the morning we did our balloon science experiment one more time just to confirm the results.
Then we put our display board together with pictures and information.
Next, JKs worked on cutting and pasting patterns.
In the afternoon we practiced presenting our science experiment.
Tomorrow morning the judges will visit each class and students will present the experiments.
For the rest of the day JKs had centers and the daily five - read to self.

We had a great day of inquiry learning again involving science experiment. In the morning we had gym class, snacks, morning circle time, the daily five - listen to reading and Art class.
In the afternoon we started a new science experiment using the same materials as yesterday.
JKs had a blast finding out that when you mix vinegar with baking soda a chemical reaction occurs called carbon dioxide. This gas will make balloons blow, with a proper procedure. Take a look at some of their faces, so cute!

To finish off the day, JKs had literacy centers using magnet letters, lego blocks and a pattern center using big, medium and small dinosaurs.

Having Fun with Science!

We had a great day!
It was very cold outside today! I checked each student before sending them outside for recess, just to make sure they had all their winter gear on. Please, start sending snow pants, even if it is not snowing, I make JKs put the snow pants on when it is cold like today.
In the morning we had gym class, snacks and morning circle time.
Next, we did our first science experiment for the Science Fair.

JKs had some time to do the daily five - read to someone and then we headed to the cafeteria for lunch.
In the afternoon we spent some time using pattern blocks to build patterns.
To finish the day off we did our science experiment one more time.

Today we began the day with gym class, snacks and morning circle time.
In the morning we worked on our fine motor skills and recognition of beginning sounds. JKs cut and paste pictures to match the beginning letter.
Next, we listened to our phonics song.
In the afternoon we used snap cubes and pattern blocks to build patterns.
Next, we talked about pattern action and how we see pattern in our day (e.g. wake up, brush teeth, put uniform on, eat breakfast, drive to school...).
To finish off the day we had centers.
