Year Ahead Day

SJA is excited to announce that Year Ahead Day is happening again this year!
All SJA PYP students will be participating in this exciting event on Wednesday, January 25th.   Year Ahead Day is a fun and interactive day for the students at SJA to spend a day in the class of the grade level ahead of them (example: SK students spend their day as Grade 1 students, Grade 6 students spend their day as Grade 7 students, etc.).  This is a great way for the students at SJA to get a glimpse into their future life at SJA!  Students can get to know the teachers, see their future classroom, and take part in activities they will be participating in next year. Please know that the teacher that is assigned for your child does not mean this will be your child's classroom teacher next year.
Please, contact me if you have any questions!

Happy Monday!

We had a great Monday!
In the morning we had our calendar time and snacks.
Next we did an activity as a group where each student had a picture of some type of transportation and we had to put glue the picture into the correct category: air, land and sea.
Next we inquired about how students come to school. Car was the most chosen type of transportation.
Then we inquired about what do we know about cars. JKs participated really well. The most interesting thing they pointed out was: "only grown ups can drive cars" - cute! I love to hear their perspective about the world around them!
We carefully decorated our card box cars, students worked in pairs for this activity. They put stickers on, letters and numbers for the license plate, wheels, etc...
We will be using the cars for a cozy reading corner for the next couple of weeks. :)
In the afternoon we started talking about Palestine and we took a look at all pictures collected so far.
To finish off the day we had centers.
Today JKs attended French and Drama classes.
Have a great evening everyone!
