Happy Tuesday!
Today our day was a bit different with the Christmas Concert rehearsals.
In the morning JKs had gym and art classes.
Then we had morning circle time and daily five - read to someone.
In the afternoon we had the whole school dress rehearsal. Everyone is sounding fantastic!
Next we came up with ideas of how to make the Grinch smile. :)
To finish off the day we had centers.

Happy Monday!
We had a great Monday!
In the morning we had gym class, snacks and circle time.
Next we completed a winter activity where JKs had to glue stripes of colorful paper on a hat. The hats will be done tomorrow. This activity was great for fine motor skills and patterns.
Next we practiced on stage for the Christmas performance.
In the afternoon we had a Christmas pattern activity, where JKs peeled stickers (they love that!) to form patterns.
We practiced again on stage, JKs are looking great with their dance moves and singing! :) Can't wait to see them at the Christmas concert!

Happy Pattern Day!
We had a great pattern day!!!
In the morning JKs attended gym class and Art class.
Next we used blocks to make patterns.
In the afternoon we presented our pattern outfit to our classmates. Everyone did a great job!
Next, we practiced our Christmas Concert song. To finish off the day we had the goldfish crackers activity.

Cold Thursday!
Today we had a great day!
We began the day with gym class, snacks and circle time.
Next we completed a chart as a class about our favorite winter activity.
In language we practiced correct letter formation of G, C and O.
In Math we practiced numeracy/fine motor skills by matching the correct amount of beads to the number on the pipe cleaner.
To finish off the day we had centers.

Cold Wednesday!
What a cold day today!
I just want to assure my JK parents that your child wears every item you send it to him/her (neck warmer, scarf, hat, gloves...) I'm very diligent when sending students out in this cold (horrible) weather! :)
In the morning we had gym class, snacks and circle time.
Next, JKs had Art class with Ms. Kerr.
In the afternoon we practiced our Christmas Concert song along with Mrs. Blair's class.
Next, JKs had French class.
In language we put on our detective hats and tried to find all Gs on our paper using the bingo dauber.
In Math/UOI we had centers where JKs used manipulatives to create patterns.

Reminders
Re-registrations from were sent home. The deadline to re-register is February 9. After that we open up spaces to the public.
January lunch forms are due no later than Friday, December 16.
The Christmas concert will be taking place on Wednesday, December 21. There will be an afternoon show and an evening show. The afternoon show begins at 12:00 noon and the evening show begins at 7:00 pm. All students should attend. The theme this year is ‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas!’ JKs are asked to wear bright Christmas colors. Girls may wear a hair bow and boys Santa's hat.
SJA Parent Guild will also be auctioning off the baskets that each classroom put together and there will be light refreshments.

A bit cold...but we had a fun day!
In the morning JKs had gym class, snacks and circle time. In circle time we have been counting the days until Christmas, we continue to count to 100th day of school, we do our regular calendar counting forwards and backwards, check the weather and sing, all is done with the super help of the special helper! :)
Next, we completed a sequence activity. JKs had to cut and paste pictures of a boy getting dressed to go outside.
Then we practiced our Christmas Concert song. Remember JKs are asked to wear bight Christmas colors on December 21st for the day concert and evening.

Happy Snowy Monday!!!
We loved playing in the snow today!
In the morning we had gym class, snacks and circle time.
Next, we learned our letter of the week - name, sound and formation. Our animal friend is Gomer Goat and it was pretty interesting to know a little bit more about goats.
JKs then practiced their Christmas Concert song with Ms. Blair's class.
After recess, JKs came in the class with so much to say about the snow. As a class, we brought in a small snowball and students started to inquire how long it would take to melt that small snowball. Also they wanted to know what should we do with the liquid/water afterwards. We placed the snowball on a tray and observed hourly what was happening with the snow. We noticed that it took 2 hours to melt the snowball. Suggestions were made regarding the melted water. A couple of JKs said that we could put the water in plants to make them grow. Some suggested that we could make lemonade! :) But at the end we all came to the conclusion that would it be a good idea just to damp it in the sink. :)
To finish off the day students attended art class with Ms. Kerr.

In language we used play doh to form the letter Q. Then we had the daily five - read to someone.
In the afternoon we practiced on stage our Christmas song. Next we had French class and worked on a Christmas pattern cut and paste.
To finish off the day we had centers where JKs could explore blocks, drama and dinosaurs.

Today we began the day with gym class, morning snacks and circle time.
Next JKs had Art class with Ms. Kerr where they used primary colors to do finger paint.
In the afternoon we read a couple of books related to the learner profile attribute: balanced.
After reading the books we brainstormed as a class things we could do to have a safe and fun classroom. Take a look at our classroom door to see what your child said. :)
Next JKs attended French class.
To finish off the day we made candy cane patterns.
